This doll is inspired by Victor Hugo‘s most famous novel – The Miserables. The boy’s name is Gavroche. I created it with the idea of being a collectible Waldorf Inspired type of doll rather than a gift for a child. Gavroche can be a gift for someone who loves to read books. In creating Gavroche’s character, Hugo was probably inspired by the boy painted in Eugène Delacroix’s painting Liberty Leading the People, which depicts the success of the July Revolution of 1830, two years before the events described in the novel.
Gavroche’s clothes and shoes are handmade from high quality natural materials. Gavroche is 30 cm tall. This boy doll can stand upright, something that is not common in Waldorf dolls
